So then he became
The very thing he never wanted

He tried for the top
And fell among the wretches
And thugs
His life lay before him
Crumbled and broken
Because
He left all the good things
That kept him from sinning
For love
This love was just empty
And now he’s a shell of
Himself
His love of this world
Never did last him
It only brought pain
And heartbreak, not passion
The last dance that killed him
Was a simple indulgence
Quite simply a tango
With a beast most abhorrent
Redemption was a long shot
For deep was the hole
Redemption that would never come
